Simone’s life was a beautiful reflection of purpose, compassion, and light.
Lumiere: The Simone Isabella Scott Foundation is dedicated to honoring Simone’s legacy by fostering programs and initiatives that reflect her passions, values, and unwavering commitment to service.
With a heart for leadership, advocacy, and uplifting others, Simone sought to empower those in need and illuminate paths toward opportunity and growth. Inspired by her example, we commit ourselves to continuing the work she began—championing education, leadership, and service driven initiatives that create meaningful change.

Through this foundation, we are the seeds of Simone’s light—called to carry forward her love, generosity, and vision. Together with our supporters, we strive to nurture her legacy, ensuring that her light continues to shine and transform lives.
SIMONE'S STORY
Simone Isabella Scott was a visionary, a storyteller, and a young woman determined to live with purpose.
Raised in a time when doors were opening wider for women of color, Simone believed in dreaming big—and she did. At just six years old, she was already talking about college and charting her path. Her sights were eventually set on Northwestern University, where she pursued a double major in broadcast journalism and political science/pre-law—driven by a passion for amplifying voices and creating change.
In May 2021, during her freshman year at Northwestern, Simone collapsed in her dorm room unexpectedly with myocarditis. Despite a miraculous heart transplant, she passed from complications shortly after. She was just 19. Though her life was brief, Simone’s impact was
profound.
